Visit my etsy shop!

Hi everyone!

This is going to be a short post. I decided to open an etsy shop so my items are more accessible. Hopefully this will make everything more convenient. On the other hand, I have been working on a new project (without finishing my others!). It is the retro circle baby blanket from Three Beans in a Pod. This lovely blanket will be given as a gift to a family friend who is a Depauw University alum. The colors are yellow and black and the outline will be in a creamish color. I will be posting photos shortly, I just wanted to update everyone on my etsy shop! You can find it here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LovelyLoopsCreations

Hope everyone had a good Fourth of July!

Quick Update

Hey all,

Summer is quickly approaching and so is more free time. I recently got the opportunity to participate in a craft show. This would be my first time and I have no clue what items to sell. Does anyone have any ideas? I have been diligently thinking about what to do and have come up with way too many options. On the other hand, I have been working on the bag a little bit with the yarn I have left. Also, I am trying to come up with my first pattern for a pom pom hat for my little sisters. Hopefully it will work out and I can share it with you all to try. I will be posting soon with more updates and pictures.

Work in progress and charities

Some of my favorite hats to donate

Hey all! I have really been on the down low, but I have been having crafter's block until lately. I started this really cute bag and am making some great progress. I underestimated the amount of yarn I needed so I am at a stopping point right now until I get out and buy some more yarn. I decided that I am going to make some modifications too. The purse is originally supposed to have a short strap, but I am deciding to make the strap longer so I can put the bag across my body. I got a great deal at Joann's for some fabric to use as the lining. The color matches up perfectly and I think it will add a nice vibe to the bag. All I have to do now is find someone who can sew or learn to sew myself. Not to mention this pattern is completely free and can be found here. It is well written so far and I have had no problems at all.

On to something else, I mentioned in an earlier post about Rosie's Cozies and have whipped up a few more hats to add to my pile from a year ago. I have close to thirty made right now and hopefully will make some more with all the scrap yarn I have. I was surprised at how tiny these hats turned out to be! This is a great charity to help out and using crocheting or any hobby to help others is the most rewarding thing a crafter can experience.
Some more hats I made
I have really been debating on whether or not to make an etsy shop. I have heard mixed things about how successful it is. As I am getting closer to college I would really like to expand my business to help me actually pay my way through college. What do you think? If you have an etsy shop, how has your experience been with it?

Thanks,
Britt

New Projects

Oh goodness! These past few months have been crazy with the holidays and school activities. I have been crocheting diligently though.  I whipped up some few adorable Leapad cases all on my own. I was so excited because I used my own pattern. Even though it was just crocheting in the round, I think they turned out pretty well.

I also used this pattern to make a cowl for my younger sister as a gift for her birthday. I love the texture of it and I only had to use one skein for it.  I love it so much that I even wore it a few times after giving it to her. I plan on making a cream one for myself and maybe some colored ones. As it is getting chillier this cowl comes in handy and really warms my sister (and me) up.
